SCAFF Technology

SCAFF technology is also known as SCAF/DAF®. This stands for SCADA Air Flotation and is a system for the removal of fats, oils, greases, COD, BOD, and suspended solids from industrial and municipal effluent. Air induction technology lies at the heart of the system. SCAF® pre-treatment alone often suffices to meet regulatory requirements for discharge to the public sewage system. In other cases, it reduces the total organic loading, thereby expanding the treatment capacity of biological plant. SCAF® is also frequently used for final ‘polishing’ of effluent before discharge.

The principal benefits of the SCAF® system:

  • More effective pre-treatment
  • Lower operating costs in power and maintenance
  • No blocking of pump valves or air nozzles
  • Proven to be more reliable than traditional systems
  • Handles a wide range of loadings

Technical features:

  • Completely self-contained modular design
  • Stainless steel construction
  • Ready for piping and electrical connection on site
  • Easily programmed and operated
  • Low electric power requirement and operating cost
  • Leading brand pumps, valves and electrics throughout
  • No nozzles to clean and no calibration of air control valves required
  • Bottom scraper fitted to larger units
  • Designed for easy access, cleaning and maintenance
  • Self-cleans automatically
  • Optional SCADA remote-control and monitoring system
  • Wide range of units
